About Us

Tony‘s draw to food began as a boy peeking into pots on the kitchen stove and grew into the kind of daily pursuit that has led him to string raw ducks from basement rafters, snack on grubs, and drink yak butter tea in a herdsman’s hut in Tibet. These days, while not pondering mathematics, he wanders around his new home in Bonn, Germany seeking the perfect pudding pretzel.
Alison grew up dreaming with an opened world atlas and National Geographic magazines. She eventually departed her provincial, Southern hometown to tread five continents and once even circled the world in 80 days. A “serious” journalist by trade, a big part of her would rather muse about the first wines of the fall harvest and why Aldi sells frozen sushi.
